Vintage-Inspired Clothing for Autumn-Winter

Monday, March 14, 2011

Vintage styles have never failed to be a fountain of inspiration for fashion designers who are
constantly looking for ways to revamp or recreate the amazing and glamorous styles of old. With the industry of the decades past full of icons for fashion nowadays, it makes sense how the newly-revived craze for vintage-inspired clothing has once again hit the runways and trends of this season's autumn-winter collection of 2010.
The adjectives that will always come to mind as fit for describing vintage clothing will most usually be classy, timeless, elegant, and stylish. Such words create the source of the fashion designers' vision for their new designs for this season as the old becomes recreated once again, reinvented to fit the aesthetic standards and demands of the new. Besides, vintage-inspired fashion will always have that touch of classiness to it that adds desire and anticipation for any outfit based on these timeless designs.
The beauty of vintage is that it is very abundant when it comes to being a source of vision for fashion designers that is why after every recreation, there are lots of varieties to choose from.
Of course, when deciding which vintage style to wear (there are ranges of vintage-inspired clothes with their own icons categorized by each decade such as the roaring 20s, the glamorous 30s and 4os, the bombshell 50s, the mod 60s, hippie 70s, retro 80s, and the like), each individual's character and personality type must also be analyzed aside from of course, the body type and size as well.
As in every fashion design, each design must be specifically tailored for the individual and the individual must be personally compatible with the design they will be wearing.
It is important to evaluate carefully which style would suit a certain personality, aura, and body type as well as skin and hair color best as this compatibility could either make or break the beauty of the outfit, showcasing the best or the worst it has to offer depending on the match that will be made. This will also give the outfit that distinct factor if it outlines the unique effect of the design in complement with the individual's style.
Some styles that are now still being explored and given more modern and sophisticated innovations to fit this 2010 fall season, (which have been inspired by past designs from vintage designs of decades past) will be enumerated in this article.
Among the styles inspired by vintage fashion are the recreations of wide-leg pants for this season.
The structure of wide-leg pants allows for the attention to focus directly on the hips and the waist and this style works really well for both thin-legged and curvy-legged women.
Wide-leg pants can also be constructed out of any fabric and it creates a striking statuesque silhouette that beautifully highlights the waist, hips and legs that would look good for most body types especially when worn with fitting tops tucked in.
Paired with the right heels or platform shoes and complemented with a thin belt, this look would give that glam vintage yet sophisticated modern vibe especially when also layered with long thin necklaces.
Another vintage-inspired style looked into for this 2010 fall season is the A-line cut dress which came from the 50s decade.
This is also another figure-highlighting dress because of its emphasis of an hourglass figure through a fit bodice to create the look of a small upper body, small waist, and then bit by bit widening towards the bottom, which showcased such a beautiful contouring of the woman's body.
Dresses like these emphasize the femininity and beauty of the woman and in the 50s, they were worn with bow headbands.
For this season's innovations, the A-line cut dresses are worn with simplicity in the accessories department by letting the spotlight be focused on the dress itself and the wonderful womanly figure that its tailoring reveals, as well as the colorful and whimsical designs of the fabric to be used.
Minimal accessories and simple bags or better yet a neutral-colored or monochrome clutch and classy pumps would look ultra-sophisticated when complemented with dresses like these.
